Eight characters searching for something (with author)

Stage reading from the anthology of tales with the same name by Björn Larsson

music by Paolo Pizzimenti

De-sire: to have no stars and to miss them. There is an emptiness in the heart of every man that each of us wants to fill. Desire is the constant perception of something that is missing. To desire knowledge is to try to fill the emptiness inside. It is this emptiness that spurs scientific research. And every scientist is first and foremost a human being, a man or a woman, with desires. Someone who is in love.

From Björn Larsson's Otto personaggi in cerca (con autore), the voices of a man and a woman who describe science in terms of their own emptiness, their own desires and their own need for love.

Lucilla Giagnoni
is an actress and writes for the theatre, cinema, radio and television. During the 1980s she studied at Vittorio Gassman's "Bottega" in Florence, working with renowned performers including Paolo Giuranna and Jeanne Moreau. Between 1985 and 2002 she was involved in the activities of the Teatro Settimo, a theatre company in Turin directed by Gabriele Vacis, contributing to the production of almost all the performances staged by the theatre. After many years spent working in the theatre and with a number of major performers, Lucilla focused her attention on writing and producing her own shows. She is also involved in teaching and training activities for children and adults. In 2016 she was appointed to the position of artistic director of the Fondazione del Nuovo Teatro Faraggiana in Novara.

Mirko Artuso
is an actor and director. He began his career in 1987 with the Laboratorio Teatro Settimo theatre company in Turin under the direction of Gabriele Vacis, working closely with artistes including Laura Curino, Marco Paolini and Eugenio Allegri. His artistic research involves constant exploration of the links between the language of poetry in the theatre and the interpretation of reality and the places in which it is found. For some years his approach has tended to encourage meetings between different people, also promoting training workshops and performances by disabled artistes. Artuso has also set up Progetto T&H (theatre projects for the disabled and disadvantaged). He also acted in the films I Piccoli Maestri by Daniele Lucchetti, La giusta distanza by Carlo Mazzacurati and more recently in La pelle dell'orso by Marco Segato.
