DEDICA FESTIVAL - P. IVA 01510360934
Dedica continues to focus very closely on the younger generations, organizing special events reserved to students and designed to give them the opportunity of getting to know the major players on the international literary stage.
WORDS ON THE STAGE
This initiative gives participants the chance to get to know Gioconda Belli as a person by examining her world and reading her most important works. During the course of the festival, the students will also get to meet Gioconda Belli in person.
WORDS AND IMAGES FOR GIOCONDA BELLI
This competition, open to students from High Schools in the Province, is intended to involve young people directly by requiring them to translate the impressions evoked by reading the works of Gioconda Belli into the form preferred by each participant – either in written form, in images or producing multi-media creations.
Six schools will take part in the competition: Liceo Leopardi-Majorana, Liceo Grigoletti and ISIS Mattiussi (Pordenone), ISIS Licei Le Filandiere and ISIS Sarpi (San Vito al Tagliamento), Licei Pujati (Sacile).
DEDICA ON BOOKBLOG AT THE TURIN BOOK SHOW
Also this year, Dedica co-operates with the International Book Fair in Turin. The various meetings held during the Festival will be documented in the Book Fair section assigned to the BookBlog, an online newspaper created by students with the aim of providing information concerning the personalities, ideas and events featured in other major festivals in Italy. The events organized for the Dedica festival will be documented by a group of bloggers from the Liceo Grigoletti high school in Pordenone; representative of the Project for the School is professor Francesca Endrigo.
DEDICA AND UNIVERSITIES
Once again this year, Dedica has organized a collaboration with the Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, which will host a conversation with Gioconda Belli entitled “La responsabilità dello scrittore” (The Responsibilities of the Author), with Susanna Regazzoni, lecturer in Spanish and Spanish-American Literature. The meeting, which is open to both students and the public, will be coordinated by Pia Masiero, director of the Incroci di Civiltà festival, sponsored by the University in Venice and one of Dedica's partners.
And a new joint event is that organized by Dedica in collaboration with the Faculty of Romance Philology at the University of Klagenfurt in Austria, where Gioconda Belli will take part in a meeting entitled “Donne e politica tra società e scrittura” (Women and politics in society and literature), which will be open to the public.
The discussion will also feature Jaime Climent de Benito, Senior Lecturer, and Martina Meidl, lecturer in Spanish and Spanish-American literature at the same faculty.
